Dr. Anthony Ingraffea- On Marcellus Shale Play

Prof. Anthony Ingraffea, a TU member from the Leon Chandler Chapter in Ithaca joined us last year on the Catskills trip and, around the camp fires, gave those in attendance a lot of information about the Marcellus Shale just as the issue was starting to hit the media. Since then, he’s become even more passionate on the issue and has been speaking at campus and public meetings throughout the Finger Lakes, Catskills and other areas.

The 3- part video below is a presentation he gave on March 31, 2010 in Vestal, NY, sponsored by NYRAD (New York Residents Against Drilling).  Please take a moment (actually, it’s quite a bit more than a moment) to view them.  They will provide you with a lot of the science and a deeper understanding of what hydro-fracturing is and will mean over the long term. Tony will also be joining us again in the Catskills next month, so you can also get the campfire version, as well.
